Hello,
I posted this in the main thread but doesn't seem to be noticed there.
Even show distribution doesn't seem to work consistently?
I have seven channels set up with two rules: "Play TV Shows in order" and "Even show distribution: 2".
2 of these channels work as intended. 5 don't.
1 of the working channels is set up as TV genre: Drama. The other is a custom playlist.
The five non-working channels are all custom playlists.
By non-working I mean it just shows the entire episode order of whichever TV show it happened to pick to start on. No distribution whatsoever.
Can anyone help? I read something somewhere about clearing the cache but I did this manually via the menu and it didn't help.
Thanks.
edit:
I have since figured out this is somehow due to the specific custom playlist. The custom playlist that works correctly with these rules only has 57 items in it. The ones that do not have at least 167 items in them. I read somewhere that it's important to have both the playlist and psedutv live set to unlimited media limit, so I tried that just now, and it didn't help. I am certain it's the playlists and not some kind of issue with the channel, because I can move the playlists around to different channels and they behave the same way no matter where I put them.
edit2:
I confirmed it has something to do with episode count- once I limited each playlist to 50 items or less, even show distribution was applied properly. This was too limiting, however, so I ended up using WIMM to create a genre tag for every specific channel I wanted a show on, then creating genre channels for each tag I created. This works with even show distribution and show episodes in order AND seems to have no upper limit on number of episodes. It's a clunky solution and if the issue with max number of episodes in a playlist gets fixed at some point, I'll revert to playlists.
